Zheng Guan (Direct Officer): It Also Restrains. Seeing the Officer Is Not Rank

Zheng Guan restrains, same as Qi Sha. For Jia Wood it is Xin Metal: it restrains the day master, with opposite yin-yang. It is closer to rules, a post, what other people require of you. People like to write Zheng Guan straight into rank. This character cannot decide rank.

When the day master is strong enough to take that restraint, rules can put the force into a seat. When the day master is weak, the same rules are pressure. A higher post only makes the restraint more real. If the day master is not enough, it is more cost, not more rank.

The difference from Qi Sha is whether the restraint comes in a smoother way, not that one is noble and one is terrible. When you see the Officer, ask two things: can the day master bear it, and is Shang Guan draining so that both sides pull at once. If it can bear it, the Officer can be duty. If it cannot, it is still only restraint. Do not let "seeing the Officer" override the strength reading.

Only Xin against Jia is Zheng Guan. If Xin is struck by Ding Fire, that is Hurting Officer meeting the Officer. Go back to the Shang Guan piece and look for the Seal. Do not write rank from this piece alone. One Officer star is enough to talk about duty. You do not need a pile of them.
